I was cleaning out my moms house and came across the violin I had taken music lessons in the 4th grade with.
Inside the body is a what looks to be a thin piece of wood with the following infomation printed on it. The font is serif type : "Joseph Guarnerius Fecit Cremonae 1746" The top 1/5 of the capital G in Guarnerius seems not to be there or is covered in dirt. Also the 46 in 1746 in hand written, very thin numbers. Any information would be great; reproduction or not it has been in the family for along time. Thanks
