: : : The label inside reads on the first line: Joseph Guarnerius fecit, second line: Cremome anno 17 IHS. On top the IHS is an upside down cross. The space after 17 is blank. There is quite a layer of dust on the inside bottom. The wirting on the label is black. The neck is well used as the finish has worn. The nut and finger board have come unglued. Otherwise complete. I can send a picture to anyone can help determine its age.
: : : Thanks Christy
: Christy, if you will email pictures to me I will try to help identify your violin. Take a dampened Qtip and gently rub the tip across the label, then you can see it more clearly. Thanks John
Hi Christy, our Joseph Gaurnerius is the same, with no writing next to the 17. I've been told that a good condition Joseph Gaurnerius copy violin can be valued up to $2000 or more. If you find any more information, please let me know.
Cheers, Mandy
