I picked up a "Guarnieri" painting at a local auction here in
Edinburgh recently, and stumbled over this thread when I was searching
for more info. His style of still life paintings of fruit are quite
unmistakeable - and rather good.

I have found only two web references - one on the
guarnieri.com website (which I think has already been referred to:
), and one from Burchard Galleries,
where
a still life of oranges (lot 128) sold for $300 in January of this
year (condition unknown).

I have not found any substantiating evidence that the painter
of these pictures is LUCIANO Guarnieri. Both the links referred to
above connect paintings obviously similar to mine with "F. Guarnieri".

Despite the blurb about a "world-renowned painter", I have
found no mention of him in any art or art history reference material.
Neither have I been able to track down "the Auctioneers Stacey Marks
in England" to ask them for any more info...

So far, I have seen references to six still life paintings of
fruit:

'Four Oranges and a Bronze Jug' Charles Golding
'A Copper Vase and Four Apples' Larry Walsh
'Three Apples and a Copper Vase' David Knell
'Three Apples'
'Still Life of Oranges' Burchard Galleries:

'An Orange and Four Apples' Roger Burroughes

It would be nice to track down the canvas "sold in Paris a
decade ago"... and VERY nice to find out a bit more information!
