I have a Violin that my parents bought for me some 30 years ago. I do not play anymore, and no one in my family too. I would like to sell it now, but there is a problem. It has a label inside "Josef Guarnerius fecit Cremonae anno 176? (6 or 8) and IHS with a cross above it". The numbers 17 are printed and the other two - written by hand. It has a really strong and cristal voice with a nice timbre. So I do not know really about the value of the violin. What I know is that I have it for some 30 years and it is bought from a professor - he was about 70 when i was ten, and before the violin was property of his father. So that is the story can anyone help me?
